February 2013 – May 2013
Paralegal, preparing Mike Degeurin, Andres Sanchez and the Foreman, Degeurin & Degeurin trial team in the US v. Jose Trevino-Morales, et. al. case. This included organizing and presenting the government’s voluminous discovery to the defense attorneys in an effort to competently present the defense’s case to the jury. With 5 co-defendants on the case, the discovery was extensive and timeliness was a large factor.

US v. Robert Allen Stanford

As one of three paralegals that assisted four trial attorneys at the guilt-innocence phase of US v. Stanford, Mr. Simmons has the privilege and honor of being one of two members of the trial team to present and prepare the client to take the stand in his defense.  In the months leading up to trial, the litigation team worked daily from sunrise to past midnight reviewing thousands of pages of discovery to adequately and competently represent Mr. Stanford.  In addition to attorneys and law students, the litigation team consisted of accountants, litigation experts and appellate attorneys.
